Andrea von Kampen grew up singing in church and school choirs in Seward, Nebraska, studied music at Concordia University Nebraska, and built a career from there rather than leaving for a coast — she still lives and works in Lincoln.
National attention arrived in 2016, when her entry in NPR's Tiny Desk Contest, "Let Me Down Easy," finished in the top ten. Records have come steadily since: the Another Day EP in 2015, Old Country in 2019, That Spell for Fantasy Records in 2021, the film soundtrack A Chance Encounter in 2022, and Sister Moon in 2024.
Her fingerstyle guitar and unhurried delivery have drawn tens of millions of streams without ever pushing for them.
