Jami Lynn

Jami Lynn started performing folk and bluegrass at thirteen, after her grandfather pushed her from the audience onto the stage, and was writing her own songs by sixteen.

She studied vocal performance at the University of South Dakota, where a senior thesis on the early folk music of the upper Midwest turned into her first solo record, Sodbusters — later taken into the Smithsonian's Shared Harmonies Project. Fall Is A Good Time To Die, her first album of all-original material, landed on The Telegraph's country albums of the year.

She has taken high honours at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival songwriting showcase and shared stages with Spider John Koerner, Gillian Welch, The Wood Brothers, Charlie Parr and Trampled by Turtles. In 2018 she recorded Sparse, a jazz record made with bassist Andrew Reinartz. She lives and writes in Spearfish.
